Join us for a dynamic life drawing class exploring movement and the body.
Expect a fun and friendly session that encourages experimentation and different ways of drawing, including exploring new approaches to mark making, trying out different perspectives and testing out new materials.
The session will begin with an introduction to historic and contemporary artists whose work explores the moving body. We will then move into a series of warm-up drawing exercises to loosen up hand-to-eye muscles and get us in the mode for tackling longer form drawings.
We will be accompanied by the wonderful life model, Charlie, who will take us through a range of movements, from gentle and slow to more dynamic motion, using coloured fabric to create flow and splashes of colour.
dRAWing Space is a new initiative seeking to expand the creative community in the region, and whether you are an experienced artist, looking for a refresher class, or are a complete newbie and want to learn a new skill - everyone is welcome!
Each session is guided by Sarah Chapman, who will be on hand throughout, drawing alongside and offering support and practical tips for drawing the live body.
